Box Planter with Trellis
Image 1: I made this with mostly recycled lumber and paint from previous projects. It started out as an idea, because I want a place to grow flowers and small veggies when I move into my new apartment. Keep in mind, I have very little experience with wood working, so don’t judge. This first picture is my idea on paper.
Image 2: The second photo is of the trellis that will be attached to one box. (I made two identical boxes. The one with the trellis will feature flowers while the one without will be where I grow my carrots and whatnot.) In the photo, the trellis is not 100% complete. It just needs one more coat of paint.
Image 3: The box itself is made with 3/4” plywood and is painted a light brown. The boards on the outside were previously part of an old deck. I chose to use black, “shoreline green” and white on the boards.
Image 4: Instead of using lumber all the way around, I was able to conserve some by painting a false back. The back of the box will be up against a wall, so it was not necessary to go all the way around.
Image 5: Nearly finished product! Minus the trellis!
